TANJUNG Lesung has long been known as a tourist area favored by tourists thanks to its beautiful beaches and nature, diversity of flora and fauna, as well as exotic cultural properties, such as Ujung Kulon National Park, Baduy and Debus Villages, Mount Krakatau and archipelago tourism. Moreover, its location in Banten, which is close to Jakarta, makes it easier for people to visit Tanjung Lesung
Sandiaga Uno as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia agrees with this because he had visited Tanjung Lesung before becoming Menparekraf and felt the natural beauty of Tanjung Lesung. Therefore, Sandi – as he is called – also advised that people in Jabodetabek (Jakarta Bogor Depok Tangerang Bekasi) can travel to Tanjung Lesung on weekends .
“Before becoming Menparekraf, I had been to Tanjung Lesung. So, Tanjung Lesung brings blessings, ”said Sandi during a working visit at the Tanjung Lesung Beach Hotel & Resort, Pandeglang-Banten, Tuesday (6/4/2021).
More deeply, he explained another advantage of Tanjung Lesung as a holiday destination, namely the alacrity of Banten West Java – as the manager of the Tanjung Lesung area – in implementing strict health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic. So that it can provide security and comfort for tourists on vacation to the Tanjung Lesung SEZ.
Then another consideration of the Tanjung Lesung SEZ is its complete facilities and has many tourist destinations in one area, such as sport tourism and ecotourism . As a result, tourists will be able to do many things while on vacation in Tanjung Lesung.
Not to forget, Sandi appreciated the CHSE ( cleanliness, health, safety, environment ) protocol that was carried out at the Tanjung Lesung SEZ. It should be noted, this protocol has been carried out by the area management for a long time and has received CHSE certification with satisfactory results from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
During the visit, Sandi also fully supports KEK Tanjung which wants to become the 1st Largest Adventure & Nature Playground in Indonesia.
He is sure that the development of the Tanjung Lesung SEZ to become the 1st Largest Adventure & Nature Playground in Indonesia will open up investment and employment opportunities. As a result, it will stimulate Indonesian tourism, especially in the Banten region.
One thing he ordered in the intention of this development was not to forget the welfare of the surrounding community. “Tourism must be a solution for economic revival,” he said.
Meanwhile, Poernomo Siswoprasetijo as the President Director of PT BWJ is optimistic that one of the areas owned by the Jababeka Group will develop into the 1st largest adventure & nature playground in Indonesia and can improve Banten’s economy and boost the welfare of the surrounding community.
This is because soon the Serang-Panimbang Section I toll road will be opened which will cut the travel time from Jakarta to Tanjung Lesung to around 3 hours. And if all sections of the Serang Panimbang Toll Road are completed in 2023, then the travel time will decrease again to about 2 hours of travel.
