The Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will be more attractive to tourists in the future. Because the process of developing aerospace tourism at the Salakanagara Airport in the Tanjung Lesung SEZ is underway.
As of last Tuesday (31/8), heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, wales stumps are currently carrying out construction work and land removal in the context of building hangars and taxiways. For your information, the taxiway is a connecting access road for aircraft between the runway, apron (area for parking aircraft), hangars and terminals.
During the construction process, the work was monitored directly by the Tanjung Lesung team and the Indonesia Flying Club (IFC) team. Poernomo Siswoprasetijo as the President Director of Tanjung Lesung, explained that the progress of the hangar construction of IFC’s supporting facilities in Tanjung Lesung is currently under construction for the construction of a road takeoff and landing aircraft.
“As of August 31, 2021, the progress is that the roadside of Salakanagara Airport has been widened, smoothed the Salakanagara runway, extended the taxiway to the hangar which has been leveled,” he explained on the 2nd floor of Menara Batavia, Central Jakarta, recently.
Poernomo also added that the taxiway from the airstrip to the IFC hangar was already leveled. The next stage is waiting for the completion of the excavating machine to clear the road of dirt and rocks, and if it is finished, then Salakanagara Airport in the Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone is ready to be used for aerospace sports and charter flights.
More deeply, Poernomo hopes that the construction of roads to hangar buildings and its facilities can run smoothly without any significant obstacles. This is so that aerospace tourism can be enjoyed as soon as possible for aerospace tourism connoisseurs and tourists. Whether it’s joy flights or flying tours, flying and adventure such as parachute, jumping, skydive, hang gliding, Aeromodelling to Sport Pilot Training (SPL License).
“Also, we hope that in the national (tourism) arena, Tanjung Lesung can become a special attraction. So that it can advance tourism in Indonesia for local and foreign tourists,” concluded Poernomo.
Tanjung Lesung and IFC have held hearings with several parties or related agencies regarding the presence of aerospace tourism in the area owned by Jababeka. Not long ago Tanjung Lesung and IFC visited the Air Force Headquarters in Cilangkap.
At the meeting, Poernomo Siswoprasetijo from Tanjung Lesung, together with Sigit H Samsu as President of IFC and Komjen Pol (Purn) Drs. Nanan Soekarna as a member of IFC discussed cooperation in the field of developing Aerospace Sports (Ordirga) Indonesia Flying Club located in Tanjung Lesung-Banten.
As is known, Tanjung Lesung is a Tourism Special Economic Zone and is included in the 10 “New Bali” program from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy which has beautiful panoramas and coastal tourist destinations that can be used as a means of increasing sports tourism, fighting equipment and interests in aerospace. The goal is to support national defense aerospace.
