BOGOR – Banten West Java and Institut Pertanian Bogor will collaborate for the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education and the application of innovation in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Tanjung Lesung Tourism- Banten.
This followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Banten West Java and Institut Pertanian Bogor regarding the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education and the Application of Innovation in the Tanjung Lesung Tourism SEZ, at the IPB Rectorate Building, Bogor, Monday (19/09/2022).
The signing of the MoU was carried out by Poernomo Siswoprasetijo as President Director of Banten West Java and W.Widiasmanto as Director of Banten West Java and Prof. Dr. Arif Satria, SP, M. Si as Rector of Institut Pertanian Bogor.
The implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education and the Application of Innovation in the Tourism SEZ is planned to improve and develop the resource capabilities of both parties. The scope of this cooperation includes the fields of (1) education, (2) research, (3) community service, (4) the application of innovation, and (5) other activities agreed upon by all parties.
Poernomo Siswoprasetijo, explained, Banten West Java and Institut Pertanian Bogor have their respective advantages that can synergize and collaborate with each other so that both parties have more added value.
Tanjung Lesung SEZ is known as an integrated tourism with a variety of activities and recreation covering an area of 1,500 ha developed by PT Banten West Java – one of the subsidiaries of PT Jababeka Tbk with a series of awards from nationally and internationally. Meanwhile, Institut Pertanian Bogor y is known as a state university that has human resources, institutional tools and the ability to conduct research. These two things, said Poernomo, could be the foundation for Banten West Java and Institut Pertanian Bogor to collaborate.
“Institut Pertanian Bogor is an A-accredited state university and one of Indonesia’s best state universities that has achieved many achievements. Through this MoU, we hope to learn many fields that have been achieved by Institut Pertanian Bogor. Vice versa, we are committed to providing the skills and experience we have for the improvement and development of resources at the Institut Pertanian Bogor in various fields,” explained Poernomo in his speech, in Bogor.
Not to forget, Poernomo expressed his gratitude and expressed his appreciation to the Institut Pertanian Bogor for opening a partnership space for Banten West Java. He also hopes that the realization after the signing of this MoU can be realized.
“We are grateful that Banten West Java can be given the opportunity to cooperate with Institut Pertanian Bogor,” said Poernomo.
Responding to this, Prof. Dr. Arif Satria, SP, M. Si welcomed the arrival of the group from Banten West Java as the developer and manager of tanjung Lesung SEZ in the signing of this MoU.
“We are very excited about (this collaboration). From this collaboration, I think there is a lot that can be created in various fields, including – if possible – building agricultural and fisheries learning centers. Because, it will be very good for the people there,” said Prof. Arif.
Prof. Arif added that his party was happy to cooperate with Tanjung Lesung. Because Tanjung Lesung is a tourist area that has the potential to become a force in boosting the regional economy with the advantages of marine tourism and argo tourism, and agro-agriculture. The rest is just to carry out research and innovation activities because, according to Prof. Arif, any economic business needs these two things in order to support the economy in Tanjung Lesung and the local community.
Both sides hope that this cooperation can go smoothly. Where can be partners who support each other and have benefits for the parties, especially having an impact on the community. So that the programs that “come out” of work there can be felt and can provide benefits to the people of Tanjung Lesung and its surroundings.

Meanwhile, Institut Pertanian Bogor is a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH) which has duties and functions in the implementation of Education, Research, and Community Service (Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi) in agriculture, maritime, and tropical biosciences.
