Infrastructure Observer: Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Accelerates Tanjung Lesung SEZ Development

Yayat Supriyatna as Infrastructure Observer from The Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Institute assessed that the presence of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road which will soon be operational could accelerate the construction of the Tanjung Lesung-Banten Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

“With the inauguration of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road, it will accelerate the development of the Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Banten,” Yayat said as quoted from Antaranews, Tuesday (11/23/2021)

Yayat explained, the biggest strength is accessibility, so it can be said that so far, people who want to travel to Tanjung Lesung take a long time. This is because tourists have to traverse a fairly long road with less than optimal road conditions.

“With the construction of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road, there will be two areas that will greatly benefit. The two areas are Lebak Regency and Pandeglang Regency,” said Yayat.

In addition, the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road will be equipped with an exit toll gate to Rangkasbitung. As a result, it will also encourage the economy and welfare in the Rangkasbitung area.

“The position of this toll road can provide potential for accelerating regional development,” Yayat said.

Meanwhile, Basuki Hadimuljono, as the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, once said that with the construction of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road, its existence will increase the acceleration of the development of tourist destinations in the Banten area.
