TANJUNG Lesung is a tourist area located in Pandeglang, Banten. This tourist area covering an area of 1,500 hectares is a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Tourism, and has now become one of the leading tourist destinations in Indonesia.
SEZ Tanjung Lesung – one of the projects owned by PT Jababeka Tbk, is currently under development aimed at becoming a world-class tourist destination such as Nusa Dua – Bali. According to Setyono Djuandi Darmono as the President Commissioner of PT Jababeka Tbk, the potential to reach that point is huge, because the tourism that is present in Tanjung Lesung is already world class.
“Starting from Mount Krakatau which is well known throughout the world, then the natural beauty of its beaches to its exotic cultural richness, such as the Ujung Kulon National Park – which has been included as one of the World Heritage protected by UNESCO, so there is no need for excessive promotion.
Not to mention the unique Baduy Village, island tours on Mount Krakatau and the islands around Tanjung Lesung. The privilege of the Tanjung Lesung SEZ has also been recognized by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. It was proven by giving Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone status for tourism in 2013. Then in 2016, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy included Tanjung Lesung in the “10 New Bali” program.
The meaning of granting the status itself is that the government will build various facilities that pamper Tanjung Lesung tourists and provide benefits for investors who invest in Tanjung Lesung.

Where attractions, access, and amenities are factors where tourist destinations can develop, Tanjung Lesung only has a weakness in access.
Therefore, when he came with Joko Widodo as the President of the Republic of Indonesia to Tanjung Lesung in 2015, the man who became an advisor to the Markplus Institute immediately asked to build a toll road known as the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road. The Serang-Panimbang Toll Road section I has been opened and it is just a matter of waiting for the Serang Panimbang Toll Road Sections II and III to be completed, which is projected to be completed by the end of 2023.
“Because of the attractions and amenities, they are good. There are various accommodations, and exciting activities here. But (in terms of) access is weak. Mandalika (which is currently being discussed because of the circuit) I happened to be the one who built it. it never sold, but because back then I or a minister sponsored it, it could (grow) like it is now. He is very confident that if the Serang-Panimbang toll road is completed, not only Tanjung Lesung will develop but also MSMEs in the Tanjung Lesung area. Then, currently, a world-class Marina is being initiated here, which collaborates with 3 SOEs, namely Pelindo III, Wika Realty and the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). It is only so that the aspects of attractions, access, amenities, can be formed properly and Tanjung Lesung can become a world-class tourism.
He did not forget to express his appreciation for Darmono who was so persistent in developing Tanjung Lesung. In its development, it has collaborated with various parties to achieve great progress as it is today. According to him, the figure of Darmono is the real of the marketing entrepreneur because he has made a breakthrough or solution so that Tanjung Lesung can develop.
Including the latest in collaboration with the Indonesia Flying Club (IFC). Tanjung Lesung already has a joy flight package. Tanjung Lesung tourists do joy flights and watch the panorama of Mount Krakatau with Cessna 152 & 172 aircraft. Sigit H.
