President Joko Widodo has inaugurated the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Section I on Tuesday (16/11) in Cibadak District, Lebak Regency. If all sections of the Serang-Panimbang toll road are completed, Jokowi believes that going to the Tanjung Lesung Tourism Special Economic Zone (SEZ) could take only 1.5-2 hours.
The toll road construction will be continued with sections II and III. When all is done, it will bring Jakarta closer to Serang, Pandeglang, until finally Tanjung Lesung.
Jokowi also hopes that the entire toll road can be finished by the end of 2023. Because the existence of infrastructure such as the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road will revive a tourist area, including the Tanjung Lesung SEZ.
Furthermore, Jokowi explained that the toll road would cut the travel time from Jakarta to Tanjung Lesung from 4 to 5 hours to a maximum of 2 hours.
“That later, if it passes, it may take 1.5 hours, a maximum of 2 hours. So people will be an alternative, not only to Puncak, but also to Tanjung Lesung,” explained Joko Widodo.
Serang-Panimbang Toll Road
Thus, the Tanjung Lesung SEZ will become an alternative tourist destination close to Jakarta, in addition to the Puncak area, Bogor, West Java.
During the inauguration, Joko Widodo was accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Governor of Banten Wahidin Halim, and Regent of Lebak Iti Octavia Jayabaya.
